Current Logging Plans

Spray lake Sawmills recently announced a massive clearcut operation in the Jumpingpound area.

The harvest will take place from 2018 - 2021, with the planning happening now
Clearcuts will affect: Jumpingpound Ridge Trail, Cox Hill Trail, Lusk Pass Trail and Baldy Pass Trail
The area to be cut borders on recent clearcuts to the north and south

1800 hectares will be clearcut (1800 football fields)
~330,000 cubic meters of wood removed

We believe that it's extremely important to display the PROPOSED plan so that the public can review it and have their concerns addressed PRIOR TO the final plan being submitted.

The proposed cutblocks are displayed in red below. Some of the cutblocks are extremely large (~200 football fields) and have little vegetation between the cutblocks. The vast majority of harvestable forest in this area will be removed with most of the remaining forest being left only on slopes too steep to harvest
Picture
This is our best depiction of existing and proposed clearcuts with our limited access to information. The actual plan may vary.
