To Get Here: From the 4 way stop on HWY 22 next to Bragg Creek, take HWY 22 south to a T intersection. Turn right (westbound) on HWY 66. Travel 19. 1km west down HWY 66 to the Beaver Lodge parking lot on your left, just past Elbow Falls and the winter gates, across from Powderface parking.

Trail Description:

From the Beaver Lodge parking lot, there are two trail options. The official trail leaves the SW corner of the parking lot and gently descends into the valley. An unofficial trail drops down the NE corner, next to Prairie creek. If you take the unofficial trail, Wander across the river flats back towards the SW to rejoin the official trail. The flood of 2013 has created wide open river flats that are fun to run around on but can be wet and muddy, or full of water. Depending on the season, you may want to stick to the high and dry official trail. The official trail drops down, crossing Powderface creek before entering the valley bottom. Enjoy a brief view of the Elbow River before entering the beaver dam area. Numerous dams create tranquil pools separated by a slow running creek with a full beaver lodge located right next to the trail. The trail wanders alongside, until reaching the Beaver Flat Campground.
