Snowshoe Hare Loop (snowshoe only)

A dedicated snowshoe trail in West Bragg. This trail runs outside of Hostel Loop and provides good snow with a mix of dense forest and open meadows. The narrow windy, hilly trail feels like a treasure hunt in the woods.

Trail Description: (counter clockwise) From Trailhead #6, head off into the woods following the orange snowshoe markers. After a short distance you'll come across an open meadow. This is the site of one of the first youth hostels in North America. The hostel unfortunately burned down in 1984, but if you look close enough, you can find the footings at the end of the meadow still. After the meadow the trail drops down and crosses a break in the trees that often turns into an unofficial trail. Continue looping around through small meadows and aspen, pine and spruce forests. At just under 4km, you'll merge with Demi - Tel. Stay left and continue for another 0.5km before coming to a 4-way intersection with Hostel Loop. Turn right and enjoy the descent back around to exit at Trailhead #4. This loop is just as enjoyable in either direction.
